Meridian police arrest 20-year-old in Labor Day shooting

The Meridian Police Department arrested Chamarion Naylor, 20, in connection with a Labor Day shooting in the 1900 block of 39th Place. Naylor has been charged with murder.

Naylor was taken into custody late Thursday night without incident in a coordinated operation involving department investigators, the SWAT Team and Gang Unit, police said.

He appeared Friday in Meridian Municipal Court, where his bond was set at $1 million.

“Our investigators acted quickly, followed every lead and worked around the clock to move this case forward,” Assistant Chief Dareall Thompson said.
