Corrections task force to hold fact-finding tour at Leakesville prison

The Corrections & Criminal Justice Oversight Task Force will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution in Leakesville for prison fact-finding tours.

The task force last met in July at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, where members heard from inmates about the benefits of programs offered at the Rankin County prison. The tour included one-on-one discussions with CMCF Superintendent Matt Reynolds and ended with lunch prepared by the facility’s Culinary Arts class.
