The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office said a drag racing event has been announced for Sept. 6 on Gibbons Road in Tutwiler and warned that participants will face arrest and vehicle towing.
In a public notice, the office said drag racing on public roads is illegal under Mississippi Code § 63-3-1215. It said there would be “ZERO TOLERANCE” for drag racing anywhere in the county.
The office also said deputies will be actively patrolling. Anyone caught participating, it said, will be arrested and the vehicle driven will be towed.
