The Tupelo Police Department received a new Lenco BearCat armored vehicle last week, and city officials viewed it during a presentation involving City of Tupelo department heads, Mayor Todd Jordan and members of the Tupelo City Council.
The vehicle is the result of a capital project that began in 2023. It is intended to provide added protection for officers and citizens during high-risk incidents.

Police Chief John Quaka and the department thanked Jordan and the City Council for their continued support and for making the project possible.
