Sandbar Café at WaterView Casino and Hotel sponsored dinner for Week 2 of the Vicksburg Citizens Academy, according to the Vicksburg Police Department.
Participants and staff enjoyed the meal Tuesday evening as the Citizens Academy experience continued. The department thanked Sandbar Café and WaterView Casino and Hotel for supporting the program and helping provide an experience for this year’s class.

The department also thanked the businesses for investing in the program and the community.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
