The Oxford Police Department will hold a fall women’s self-defense class Tuesday, September 15, at 6 p.m. at the OPD Training Room, 9 Industrial Park Drive.
The class is free and open to women ages 15 and older, regardless of experience level. Registration is not required.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
