The Olive Branch Police Department participated in a 9/11 remembrance at the Horn Lake football field, standing together during the National Anthem on the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
The remembrance honored people who died in the attacks and those who responded to the danger, including firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military members and civilians. The department said the event also recognized their courage, selflessness and sacrifice.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
