Meridian will honor local figure Ken Rainey with an evening celebration at the Temple Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, according to the City of Meridian-Government.
The event will begin with a star unveiling at 6 p.m., followed by the Ken Rainey Celebration Concert from 7 to 9 p.m.

Special guest Randy Houser is scheduled to perform alongside local and regional talent. Admission is free.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
