A Ken Rainey celebration featuring country singer Randy Houser is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, at the Temple Theatre in Meridian, with free tickets available.
The event will begin with a star unveiling at 6 p.m., followed by the Ken Rainey Celebration Concert from 7 to 9 p.m. Houser is listed as a special guest, along with local and regional talent.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
