Macedonia fire department to host open house and National Night Out event

The Macedonia Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Open House and National Night Out Against Crime event Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Macedonia Station 1, 610 Macedonia Road.

The event will include the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office, North Forrest Volunteer Fire Department and Sunrise Volunteer Fire Department. Organizers said it is intended to bring community members and local first responders together.

Free food, drinks and handouts will be available, along with games for children of all ages. Attendees also will have an opportunity to meet local first responders.

Rawls Springs VFD will join neighbors at the community center that same evening, according to the announcement.
