Greenville Fire Department to hold 9/11 memorial ceremony Sept. 11
The Greenville Fire Department will host a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at Delta Towers, 638 Main Street, in Greenville.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and will include musical selections by the Greenville High School Choir, guest speakers, and a period for remembrance and reflection.
The department is encouraging the public and surrounding fire departments to attend. The ceremony will remember those who died, honor first responders and recognize people who continue to serve and protect their communities.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons said, “Twenty-five years later, time has passed, but our duty to remember has not. We honor those we lost, we salute the heroes who answered the call, and we recommit ourselves to the unity that reminded us that we are one nation and one people.”
