Gideons International provides New Testaments to Pike County detention staff
Alvin Kyle of The Gideons International visited the Pike County Detention Center on Thursday, Sept. 24, and provided a new New Testament to each member of the facility’s staff, including Major Jewel Hines, correctional officers and deputies.
Kyle also spoke words of encouragement to the staff and led them in prayer, according to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department.
Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones said the detention center’s staff members face daily challenges while protecting and serving Pike County. He expressed gratitude to Kyle and The Gideons International for encouraging the staff, praying with them and giving them the New Testaments.
