Coahoma County sheriff’s office shares domestic violence resources
The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office is using Domestic Violence Awareness Month to educate the community about abuse and share resources for victims and survivors.
The office said domestic violence can include emotional, psychological, sexual and financial abuse, in addition to physical abuse.
People experiencing domestic violence, or those who know someone who is, are urged to contact a local law enforcement agency or a domestic violence support organization for assistance.
The resources listed by the office include the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office at 662-624-3085 and 911 for emergencies. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available at 1-800-799-7233, or by text with “START” to 88788. The post also lists ndvh.org, the MS Coalition Against Domestic Violence at 1-800-989-3234 and the National Dating Abuse Helpline at 1-866-331-9474, along with loveisrespect.org.
