The Capitol Police held its first Meet & Greet of the year, thanking attendees for their participation, according to a Facebook post.
The department expressed enthusiasm about continuing to build trust and share updates with the community. Officials encourage residents to follow their activities and sign up for the Capitol Police newsletter through a provided link.

A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
