Reeves says Mississippi arrives at SelectUSA Investment Summit
Gov. Tate Reeves said on Facebook that Mississippi has arrived at the SelectUSA Investment Summit and that he is “looking forward to a productive few days” with global corporate partners.
The SelectUSA Investment Summit is organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce to promote foreign direct investment in the United States. State leaders, economic development officials and corporate representatives typically use the event to pitch projects, explore partnerships and discuss opportunities to expand jobs and industry in their regions.
Reeves’ post, which included photos, used the campaign-style phrase “Let’s Break New Ground!” and the hashtag #SelectUSASummit, signaling the state’s focus on courting corporate investment. Attracting outside investment can bring new jobs, infrastructure projects and tax revenue to states, priorities that governors often highlight when attending federal investment forums.
Details about Mississippi’s delegation, scheduled meetings or announcements were not provided in the social post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
