Hitachi Energy to invest $528 million in Mississippi, add 654 jobs
Hitachi Energy plans to make its largest U.S. investment in Mississippi, with a $528 million corporate investment and 654 new jobs in Copiah County, according to the Mississippi Development Authority.
The project will expand Hitachi Energy’s U.S. transformer manufacturing and increase production capacity at its Mississippi operations. It also will broaden the range of small power transformers made in the United States, the announcement said.
The expansion is expected to increase domestic production of critical energy infrastructure while helping meet growing demand and strengthening the domestic supply chain.
