Aluminum Dynamics invests $200M, creates 100 jobs in Mississippi

Aluminum Dynamics said in a social media post it will invest $200 million and create 100 jobs in Lowndes County, Mississippi.

The post did not include further details about a timeline, the exact site or additional terms of the investment.

Lowndes County is in eastern Mississippi; its county seat is Columbus. Manufacturing and industrial investment have been important drivers of employment and economic growth across the state.

Local and state leaders often court manufacturing projects to broaden the tax base and provide long-term jobs. New plants can also create construction work and opportunities for local suppliers and service providers.

Details about the planned facility, potential incentives and when hiring would begin were not disclosed. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
