MDES issues statement that some have been overpaid on unemployment as their website has been down

The Mississippi Department of Unemployment Security announced some people may have been overpaid on unemployment. At the same time, their website has been down on Sunday.

From MDES on social media:

Some individuals may have received a notification regarding overpayments. This is because you may have been overpaid. MDES is not requesting anyone to repay these funds. MDES is aware of these individuals and this money will be off-set on future payments.

MS Works and ReEmployMS is currently unavailable due to maintenance. This includes many of our online employment, unemployment, and tax services.

YOu may have gotten an email from MDES about your overpayment. It is also available in your online account.
