A Heat Advisory remains in effect for portions of the Mid South from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for heat index values at or above 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee.
The area also faces a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon into early evening, with damaging winds identified as the primary threat.
