Multiple sentenced on meth charges in Prentiss County

BOONEVILLE, Miss. — Multiple Booneville residents were sentenced this week in Prentiss County Circuit Court for methamphetamine-related offenses, the First Circuit district attorney’s office said in a press release. Circuit Judge Kelly L. Mims imposed the sentences between June 11 and June 18, 2026.

Mack Randle, 53, pleaded guilty June 11 to trafficking methamphetamine and sale of methamphetamine and was sentenced June 15 to 10 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The press release said investigations by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics showed Randle sold 26 grams and 112 grams of methamphetamine. Because of the trafficking conviction, Randle is not eligible for parole and will be required to serve the full 10 years, followed by five years of post-release supervision.

Absolomon Hines, 50, pleaded guilty June 15 to possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, transfer or distribute and received a 15-year sentence. The office said the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics found Hines in possession of more than 13 grams of methamphetamine. Upon release he will face five years of post-release supervision.

Tonya Shouse, 39, pleaded guilty June 15 to trafficking methamphetamine and possession and received 10 years after investigations by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department, acting as part of the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, tied her to the sale of about 108 grams and a separate possession of less than two grams. William Prentice Brown, 44, pleaded guilty June 16 to trafficking, possession and felony fleeing and was sentenced to 10 years; those charges arose from separate investigations by the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department and the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit. The press release said trafficking convictions in those cases make the defendants ineligible for parole and require five years of post-release supervision upon release.

On June 18, Phillip Grizzard, 35, pleaded guilty to trafficking methamphetamine and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and was sentenced to 10 years; the office said he sold about 108 grams with Shouse and was found in possession of a rifle in a separate Booneville police investigation. Grizzard’s 10-year sentence was ordered to run consecutive to a five-year sentence he is currently serving. Abbey Mullikin, 35, pleaded guilty June 18 to possession with intent to sell and received 20 years; she was charged as a co-defendant with Brown. Tanya Savell, 48, pleaded guilty June 18 to two counts of sale of methamphetamine and one count of possession and was sentenced to 15 years. Assistant District Attorney Kyle Robbins prosecuted the cases on behalf of the State of Mississippi, the press release said. First Circuit District Attorney Jason D. Herring issued the release. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
