Primary election day reminders

Ballots may be cast for the Aug. 8 primary election between 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Any voter in line at 7 p.m. is legally entitled to cast a ballot.

Gov. Reeves was joined by Gold Star children and military leaders in Mississippi for the proclamation signing.

Hill faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 25.

The application period will close on Tuesday, Aug. 15. All Mississippi counties are eligible for the application period.

The state hosts over 75 JROTC units run by the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and now the Coast Guard.
