No. 8 Ole Miss defeats No. 7 LSU 32-24 in Magnolia Bowl

OXFORD, Miss. — No. 8 Ole Miss defeated No. 7 LSU 32-24 in the Magnolia Bowl on Saturday night at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, improving to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. LSU fell to 2-1 and 0-1.

The victory extended Ole Miss’ home winning streak to 14 games, tied for the second-longest active streak in the Football Bowl Subdivision. The Rebels have won 10 of their last 11 games dating to Oct. 25, 2025. The game also drew a Vaught-Hemingway single-game record 70,033 fans.

Quarterback Chambliss completed 33 of 48 passes for 363 yards and two touchdowns. He threw a touchdown pass in his 16th consecutive game, tying Eli Manning for the third-longest streak in school history. Lacy rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown on nine carries and has scored a rushing touchdown in 12 consecutive games.

Traylon Ray led Ole Miss with seven catches for 115 yards and a touchdown, while Deuce Alexander had seven receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown. The Rebels had five receivers make at least three catches.

Ole Miss led 17-0 in the second quarter before LSU cut the deficit to 17-7. Alexander’s touchdown catch before halftime put the Rebels ahead 24-7, but LSU tied the game at 24 in the fourth quarter. Chambliss then scored on a 14-yard quarterback keeper, and Ole Miss added a two-point conversion to take a 32-24 lead.

Jaylon Braxton sealed the win with his first interception of the season and second career interception at Ole Miss. Sharif Denson and Tah’j Butler led the Rebels with eight tackles each, while Luke Ferrelli had six tackles and a pass breakup. Will Echoles recorded three tackles for loss and a sack.

Ole Miss will next play at Florida, which is 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on ABC or ESPN.
