Millsaps’ Myles Johnson earns two weekly football honors

Millsaps College defensive tackle Myles Johnson earned two awards to begin the 2026 season after helping the Majors defeat Belhaven 36-20 in the Riverside Rumble on Thursday.

Johnson was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week and voted the Southern Athletic Association Defensive Athlete of the Week. Against Belhaven, he recorded six tackles, including a sack, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.

The forced fumble came with Millsaps leading 30-20 and 2:15 remaining, helping seal the game.

Millsaps returns to action Saturday at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
