Jania Rose of Northwest Community College volleyball earned a Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Player of the Week honor, the program’s second such recognition this year. Rose averaged 3.33 digs per set during the Rangers’ 6-0 week while splitting time in the back row.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
