Former Ole Miss players make Week 3 contributions across NFL

Twenty-three former Ole Miss players saw action across the NFL in Week 3, according to an update from Ole Miss Athletics. Tre Harris of the Los Angeles Chargers led the group with career highs of six catches and 76 yards in a loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Carolina Panthers linebacker Princely Umanmielen recorded three tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit in a loss to Cleveland. He brought down Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson for a sack in the third quarter, and his PFF pass-rush grade of 77.5 ranked first on the Panthers and third in the AFC South for the week.

D.K. Metcalf caught three passes for 31 yards and a touchdown as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 30-27. San Francisco 49ers receiver Jordan Watkins had two catches for 60 yards in a 36-30 win over Arizona.

Seattle safety AJ Finley made his first career start against Washington. He recorded three tackles and played every defensive snap; his PFF tackle grade of 83.7 ranked first on the Seahawks and second in the NFC West for Week 3.

Denver tight end Evan Engram played 40 snaps in a 30-26 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Other listed contributions included two tackles and a quarterback hit by Baltimore linebacker Tavius Robinson in a 34-31 win over Dallas, and two tackles by Cleveland defensive end Sam Williams in a 21-18 win over Carolina.

Among the other former Rebels who played, New England offensive lineman Ben Brown logged 15 snaps, Philadelphia linebacker Chance Campbell played 11 special-teams snaps and Indianapolis linebacker Tahj Chambers played 19 special-teams snaps. Cincinnati defensive end Cedric Johnson played 34 snaps and had two tackles, while Denver defensive tackle D.J. Jones played 38 defensive snaps and made one tackle.

The update also listed Las Vegas defensive tackle JJ Pegues and Kansas City offensive lineman Diego Pounds as inactive for Week 3. Several other former Ole Miss players were listed on injured reserve or practice squads.
