Tate Reeves posts Mother’s Day tribute to wife, mother

Gov. Tate Reeves posted photos on Facebook wishing a happy Mother’s Day to First Lady Elee Reeves and to his mother, according to the post shared on the governor’s official account.

Reeves, the chief executive of Mississippi, used the social media message to recognize family members during a holiday observed nationwide to honor mothers and maternal figures. First ladies often perform public-facing roles and use visibility to highlight family and community causes.

In the Facebook post, Reeves wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day to two of the best moms I know — First Lady of Mississippi Elee Reeves and my mom! The Reeves girls and I are blessed to have these ladies in our lives. Wishing y’all a great Mother’s Day, Mississippi!” The post included photographs, according to the account.

Messages from elected officials on holidays are a common way to connect with constituents and acknowledge cultural observances. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
