Poster to announce child protection initiative with Trump administration

A Facebook post says the author will announce a new initiative in partnership with the Trump Administration and the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. The post invited followers to tune in live on Facebook.

The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services is the state agency responsible for child welfare, including investigations of abuse and the foster care system. State agencies such as this often coordinate with federal partners on funding, training and program delivery.

The Trump Administration refers to the federal executive branch under former President Donald J. Trump. Federal-state partnerships have in the past aimed to leverage federal resources and guidance to support state-level programs, though specifics of any program can vary widely.

The significance of the announced partnership will depend on the initiative’s goals, funding and implementation plans, which were not detailed in the post. The Facebook message said viewers could watch the announcement live on the platform.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
