Mississippi auditor releases MOGE report identifying alleged waste in 2018-25
Last year, State Auditor Shad White released a MOGE report that his office said documents government waste in spending from 2018 through 2025.
The report, described in a post on the auditor’s Facebook page, highlights examples it calls wasteful, including what it says are millions of dollars directed to diversity, equity and inclusion offices that funded activities such as equity-based yoga for preschoolers and taxpayer support for college degree programs it described as teaching trans/gender ideology.
White’s office directed readers to its website, osa.ms.gov, where the report can be found under “Audit Reports” by searching for “MOGE” for more information.
The auditor’s office said it is dedicated to ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent appropriately and not stolen. The release included a tip line, 1-800-321-1275, and an online reporting option for suspected misuse of funds.
State auditors generally examine public accounts, contracts and programs to detect improper spending and recommend reforms. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
