Tupelo police investigate armed robbery at North Gloster store

Tupelo police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store on North Gloster Street, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 7:52 a.m. Tuesday at Breeze-N, located at 1725 North Gloster Street, police said. A suspect, described as a shirtless black man wearing a ski mask and hoodie, entered the store, covered his face and demanded money from the cash register with a small knife.

During the robbery, the suspect struggled with a store clerk and stabbed him. As a customer entered the store, the suspect fled on foot, running south on North Green Street.

Officers responded quickly, provided aid to the victim and transported him to North Mississippi Medical Center. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Authorities secured the scene and continue their investigation. They ask anyone with information to contact the Tupelo Police Department at 662-841-6491 or Crime Stoppers at 800-773-TIPS.
