Suspect Arrested in Connection with Vehicle Burglaries in Lee County
JACKSON, Miss. — A man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into a series of vehicle burglaries across Lee County and surrounding areas.
The joint effort involved the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, the Tupelo Police Department, and the Tupelo Police SWAT team. Authorities executed a search warrant at an apartment on McCollough Boulevard on Jan. 13, 2026, leading to the arrest of Camryn R. Hodges, 23, of Prairie, Mississippi.
Hodges faces six counts of burglary of a vehicle. He was booked into the Lee County Jail with a $500,000 bond. Sheriff Jim H. Johnson praised the cooperation between agencies, saying, “Working together produces results. I am grateful for the cooperation between the Tupelo Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Department in ensuring that these victims were not forgotten.”
The investigation began in September 2025, after reports of similar vehicle break-ins with a common modus operandi. The case remains active, and authorities say additional charges could be filed in Lee County and neighboring jurisdictions. The cases will be presented to the next Lee County grand jury.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
