Police officers keep learning as laws, technology evolve
Police officers must continually learn and train to keep up with changing laws, advancing technology and the variety of situations they face, a Facebook post marking National Police Week said.
The post said officers are always studying and training to sharpen their skills. That training can include updates on legal standards and department policies, scenario-based exercises, community engagement techniques and instruction on new equipment such as body-worn cameras and other digital tools.
