GOVERNOR TATE REEVES has declared January Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers Month, marking the organization’s 40th anniversary. The governor encourages residents to participate in local Crime Stoppers efforts to prevent crime and strengthen communities across the state.
Reeves thanked the organization for its work and support. Crime Stoppers reminds the public that tips remain anonymous and that rewards of up to $2,500 are available for tips leading to felony arrests. More information is available at www.mscoastcrimestoppers.com.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
