Man shot on Longwood Cove dies at hospital; suspects in custody

YAZOO CITY, Miss. — A man died after a shooting on Longwood Cove on January 3, authorities said.

Dispatch received a call at about 12:05 p.m. reporting the shooting. Deputies arrived and found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. They began life-saving efforts until Pafford Emergency Services arrived.

The victim, identified as 33-year-old Cornelius Stuckey, was transported by ambulance to Baptist Hospital in Yazoo City. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, officials said.

Two men surrendered and are being held at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility, authorities added. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
