Capitol Police are asking for the public’s help in a fatal hit-and-run investigation. On November 17, 2024, at about 6:51 p.m., officers responded to Raymond Road near Valley Street, beneath the viaduct, after a crash was reported.
Officers found Cedric Jones lying motionless on the pavement. He was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he died on February 2, 2025.
The police urge anyone with information to contact Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers. Tips leading to an arrest could earn a reward of up to $2,500. To share information, call 601-355-TIPS or submit a tip online at p3tips.com.
