The Mississippi Department of Revenue highlighted Attala and Benjamin, revenue specialists on its titles customer service team, for helping serve Mississippi taxpayers with integrity.
The department said the recognition followed feedback it recently received about the two employees. It thanked Attala and Benjamin for their work and described them as bright spots at the Department of Revenue.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
