The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency commemorated the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, in a statement marking 25 years since the attacks.
The agency said it remembers the victims, the first responders who ran toward danger and emergency personnel who worked in the aftermath. It also honored acts of courage, compassion and service that followed.
