McDonald’s to Require Face Coverings Nationwide
Big changes are coming to McDonald’s restaurants nationwide due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Effective August 1st, McDonald’s will be requiring all customers to wear face coverings when entering their restaurants. They follow behind several other companies making this decision, including Walmart and Kroger.
There are 13,837 McDonald’s locations in the U.S. today and they bring in a whopping $37.5 billion yearly in U.S. sales alone. This makes them one of the most popular fast-food options not just in America, but worldwide.
McDonald’s has been operating its locations with drive-thru or curbside pickup options only for the duration of the pandemic thus far. In other countries, such as Spain and France, locations have even been completely closed down for now.
The company stated in January that it would add 1000 new locations globally in 2020, however, the pandemic has largely put a halt to this.
