Lauderdale County Man Charged with Kidnapping and Sexual Assault

On Thursday, authorities from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation charged a 58-year-old man in Lauderdale County for the crime of kidnapping and attempted sexual assault.

The suspect in custody is Jerry Cotton of Rose Hill. Agents from the MBI Meridian District responded to a complaint on Interstate 59.

Cotton is currently being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
