Vicksburg owner offers $5,000 reward after zero-turn mowers stolen

VICKSBURG, Miss. — The owner of a Vicksburg powersports business is offering a $5,000 reward after thieves allegedly cut through a fence and stole three zero-turn mowers early Monday morning, the owner said.

Allen Pugh, owner of Patriot Motorsports, said the burglary occurred about 3:45 a.m. Surveillance footage shows suspects parking across the street near a co-op about 2:30 a.m., cutting the business’s fence and loading three Scag zero-turn mowers, he said. The suspects left the area about 4:27 a.m., according to Pugh.

Pugh described the vehicle used as a distinctive white Ram 3500 or 4500 one-ton flatbed truck with cab lights and front fender flares and said the truck did not display a license plate. He said he believes the same truck was used in a burglary at a mower dealership in Collins last week and had previously been connected to another break-in at Patriot Motorsports; equipment from that earlier incident was later recovered in Memphis, he said.

Pugh initially believed the suspects may have crossed the Mississippi River bridge but later posted that the truck most likely traveled into Hinds County after leaving southbound on U.S. 61. He asked anyone with surveillance cameras between Vicksburg and the Beechwood intersection to review footage for possible sightings.
