Tupelo police seek suspect in South Green Street wallet theft

Crime Stoppers of North East Mississippi and the Tupelo Police Department are asking the public for help in locating the person or persons believed responsible for grand larceny after a wallet was reported stolen July 12, 2026.

The report was filed with the Tupelo Police Department after the wallet was taken from a gas station on South Green Street, officials said in a Facebook post. Surveillance footage from the business shows a possible suspect described as a Black male wearing a white shirt, black pants and a black toboggan.

Crime Stoppers of North East Mississippi, a local chapter of the national Crime Stoppers network that solicits anonymous tips, said people with information should call 800-773-TIPS (8477) or download the P3 Tip App to leave a tip. The organization said it will pay up to $2,000 for a tip that leads to an arrest.

Officials reminded the public that Crime Stoppers does not want callers’ names, only information. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
