Sheriff Jim H. Johnson said in a Facebook post that his office plans to issue morning, mid-day and evening updates for Lee County and urged residents to tune into a trusted local media outlet for the latest weather information.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for the county and commonly coordinates with local emergency management and media partners to share time-sensitive information during weather events and other public-safety incidents.
Regular briefings from public-safety officials can help residents make informed decisions about travel, shelter and other precautions when weather risks are present. Local television, radio and online news outlets often carry live updates and official statements from county agencies.
Residents who want the most reliable information should follow official sheriff’s office channels and sign up for county emergency alerts in addition to monitoring trusted local media and national weather services for forecasts and warnings.
