Lt. Col. Grossman addresses Shield Summit on Bulletproof Mind
Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, retired U.S. Army, spoke on the concept of the “Bulletproof Mind” at the 2026 Shield Summit, the Mississippi National Guard said in a Facebook post. The summit was hosted by the Guard’s Regional Counterdrug Training Academy at Northwest Rankin Middle School.
The post said Sheriff Bailey and multiple Rankin County Sheriff’s Department employees attended the training conference. The event brought together local law enforcement and National Guard trainers for sessions focused on professional development and resilience.
Grossman is a retired U.S. Army officer and author who has long addressed combat psychology and resilience for military and public safety audiences. His presentations typically explore mental preparedness and coping strategies for people who work in high-stress, high-risk professions.
Training conferences such as the Shield Summit aim to share best practices, strengthen interagency cooperation and enhance community safety by improving skills and mental readiness among officers. The participation of Rankin County deputies highlights local investment in those efforts. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
