Gulfport police seek public help identifying person in uttering forgery probe

The Gulfport Police Department is asking the public to help identify the person shown in a post related to an investigation into uttering forgery, the department said.

Authorities asked anyone with information to contact Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers by downloading the P3 Tips app or by calling TIPS. The department said that to be eligible for a reward, information must be submitted directly through Crime Stoppers.

Uttering forgery generally refers to presenting or passing a forged document or instrument with knowledge that it is false, a charge that can affect business transactions and personal financial security. The Gulfport Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency serving Gulfport on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and routinely works with community tip lines to develop leads in financial and document-related crimes.

The department noted that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
