Detective Donald Fredman was named the Gulfport Exchange Club Officer of the Year, the Gulfport Police Department said in a Facebook post. The department congratulated Fredman and said the recognition reflects his work ethic, integrity and commitment to doing the job the right way.
The post said Fredman “leads from the front, puts in the work day in and day out, and makes a lasting impact, not only within the department, but throughout the City of Gulfport.” The department added that it is proud to have him on the team.
The Exchange Club is a national service organization whose local chapters frequently honor public safety personnel and support community projects. Local Officer of the Year awards are intended to recognize exemplary performance, strengthen community-police relations and highlight officers who provide consistent leadership and service.
