Corinth police locate missing man with dementia
Corinth Police Department said Thursday that James Warrington has been located after leaving Magnolia Regional Hospital on foot early Thursday morning and that it thanks residents for their quick responses. The department posted the update on its Facebook page, saying the search has ended.
In an earlier post the department asked the public to be on the lookout for Warrington, who is known to have dementia. The department said he left Magnolia Regional Hospital on foot around 7:15 a.m. and asked anyone who saw him or knew his whereabouts to call 662-286-3377.
Police departments frequently use social media to seek community help in locating missing or at-risk people, and health experts say people with dementia can be prone to wandering and may face elevated safety risks. Local law enforcement and hospital staff often rely on tips from residents to locate vulnerable patients quickly.
