Coahoma County sheriff’s office seeks business sponsorships for safety program

The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that it is seeking business sponsorships for a local community safety program and that Steve Wallace of LAW Publications will visit area businesses to solicit support.

The office said the program distributes awareness information and materials to school-aged children and senior citizens to warn them about drug-related risks and to keep them informed on other important safety topics.

The sheriff’s office said it operates with the highest degree of honesty, professionalism and integrity in all interactions with the community, fellow law enforcement agencies and with one another.

Coahoma County is in northwest Mississippi. Community safety and education programs like this commonly aim to prevent substance abuse and improve public awareness of everyday risks. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
