Bay St. Louis police seek person in false-pretense incident

The Bay St. Louis Police Department said an individual was involved in a false-pretense incident at a business on Highway 90 on Jan. 29, 2026, at approximately 5:58 p.m.

Police released an image of the person and asked the public to help identify them. The individual was described as wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, brown beaver slippers and a navy-blue visor.

If anyone can identify the person, police asked that they contact Crime Stoppers by downloading the P3 Tips app or by calling TIPS. Police said that to be eligible for a reward, information must be submitted directly through Crime Stoppers.

False-pretense reports generally involve obtaining money or property by deception; the Bay St. Louis department did not provide additional details about property taken or any arrests. Bay St. Louis is in Hancock County, Mississippi. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
