Pontotoc Electric urges 10-foot distance from power lines on farms

Pontotoc Electric Power Association is advising farm workers to keep all equipment at least 10 feet away from power lines, including when moving hay, operating machinery or working near overhead lines and irrigation equipment.

The utility said the same distance should be considered when equipment is lowered or folded for transport. It also recommended using a spotter to provide an additional set of eyes on the equipment.
