Meridian issues precautionary boil water notice for specified area

The City of Meridian has issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers in a specified area of the Mississippi city.

The affected area begins at Grandview Avenue and 34th Street, extends east to Old Marion Road, south to 23rd Street, west to 16th Avenue, north to 26th Street and east to Grandview Avenue.

Customers are encouraged to boil water vigorously for at least one minute before drinking it or using it to prepare food.

The city said it will provide another public update after test results are received and the notice can be lifted. Residents were also asked to review the map for the affected area and share the information with neighbors who may be impacted.
