Streetball program teaches financial literacy, life skills alongside basketball

Streetball students recently took part in sessions on financial literacy and physical education aimed at teaching life skills that extend beyond the court, a social media post from the program said. The post said instructors led the sessions and that organizers were grateful for everyone who contributed to the experience.

Streetball programs typically combine basketball instruction with mentorship and community engagement, offering young people regular opportunities for physical activity, teamwork and personal development. Organizers said the recent sessions built on that model by introducing basic money-management concepts alongside athletic training.

Financial literacy instruction can help young people understand budgeting, saving and planning for the future, while physical education supports health, discipline and teamwork. Together, those lessons aim to prepare students for success both in sports and in other aspects of life, organizers said.

The post emphasized that investing in youth development helps build future community leaders. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
